The parks in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is known about its picturesque canals and nice squares. But did you know that there are a lot of nice parks you can visit as well? They are all prerty easy to reach via our hotel. We’ve made a list with our personal favorites and why you should go there.

  1. Escape the crowd at the Amstelpark
    The Amstelpark is located along the bank of the Amstel River and is one of the largest parks in Amsterdam. There’s a lot of fun to explore for the whole family: kids can play at the playground, take a ride on a hover craft, play a round of midget golf and you can even take a train ride through the whole park. Walk down the park to the most south end and you’ll find the Riekermolen, an authentic Dutch windmill. You can reach the Amstelpark by taking the metro no. 52 to Europaplein form Central Station. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to the enterance of the Amstelpark.

  2. The Amsterdamse Bos – The forest of Amsterdam
    Wander around in the largest park of Amsterdam which is located on the outskirts of the city. The Amsterdamse Bos is home to a large variety of activities, which will give you fun and laughter for the whole day. Start your day with a stop at the Bosbaan, a rowing course, where you can watch how professional athletes are training in their row boats. Our favorites to visit in the Amsterdamse Bos are:

    - The Goat Farm (Ridammerhoeve);
    - Go on a tree top adventure at the Fun Forest Climbing;
    - Visit the Japanese Garden.

     Take metro line 52 to Station Zuid, walk to the bus station and take bus no 348 to the Amstedamse Bos.

  3. Sightseeing in the heart of Amsterdam – The Vondelpark
    We can’t argue the fact the Vondelpark is the most famous park in Amsterdam. Many locals visit the park on a sunny day to enjoy the sun and just having fun. Make a nice stroll through the park and find several pieces of art from Picasso. You can get yourself some fancy beverages at the Blauwe Tuinhuis, located in the middle of the Vondelpark.

    Take the tram no 2 to the Leidseplein. From there, it’s a little stroll to the Vondelpark

  4. A little jewel in Amstersam’s West – Erasmuspark
    A true hidden gem in the West Side of Amsterdam! The Erasmuspark is named after the Dutch humanist Desiderius Erasmus. What makes this park truly unique, is the fact that the main park is essential an island.

    Take tram no 13 to the Marco Polotraat.
